Success stories!

As you all know, I love Pinterest.  I've been so proud of myself for actually doing some of the things I've discovered on that site and not just wasting time browsing it.  Here are some of the recipes that I've made after finding them on Pinterest.

Crispy Cheddar Chicken
This was delicious! Super easy to make and very yummy. We will definitely be making this again (and variations of it) soon.

In real life!

Zucchini, Black Bean, and Rice bowl
This was a delicious and filling meal. I really liked it. I can see changing this depending on veggies are in season or what you have in your pantry.

Slow Cooker Buffaloe Chicken
It's my goal for 2012 to use my slow cooker as much as possible. This was so easy it is kind of ridiculous.  It's three ingredients.  Seriously. Three ingredients.  And absolutely delicious. I used some of the leftovers to make a buffaloe chicken salad the next day. Yummmmmmmm.

Baked Parmesan Garlic Chicken Wings
I had some garlic wings at Buffaloe Wild Wings a few months ago so when I saw this recipe I had to try it.  My husband and sister-in-law loved them so I say they were a success!

From Steamy Kitchen
 Seven Layer Tortilla Pie
I've made this recipe twice. It's great for a big group.  I took pictures of mine but they didn't come out nearly as appetizing as the picture form Let's Dish.  If you do make this recipe, use a springform pan. I have no idea how she uses a pie plate. It's a tall pie so it'll serve a lot of people. We love it for leftovers though.

Boo!

I love Halloween. I know there are some that don't like it (I won't single anyone out, wink wink) but I do love the fun of it. I have always enjoyed coming up with costume ideas, decorating, carving pumpkins, and, of course, eating the candy!

There are some cute Halloween ideas on Pinterest. I wish our house wasn't on the market so I could throw a party!

Pinterest Inspiration

I am addicted. I know I am. I can spend hours on Pinterest discovering new recipes, home decorating ideas, organization tips, fashion hints...if only I spent as much time actually doing these things! Here are my current discoveries.

I love using an empty frame to display pictures. This would be easy to make and you can constantly update the pictures. I wonder if the pictures will curl though?

I love this birthday calendar. I think I can make this fairly easily.

Put corkboards inside kitchen cabinets to put up recipes and other reminders. I love this! It may keep my counters clutter free.

I love the idea of taking old crates and staining them to make a bookcase. This would be so easy (I think)!

While I know I waste time browsing Pinterest, I find it a welcome distraction from Facebook. I think I'm going to quit Facebook one of these days.

Pinterest

**Update: Just logged onto Pinterest from home and the site is completely different. Much easier to navigate and use.  And I had the help of a wonderful video tutorial so I'm ready to go! I hope the laundry can wait another night....

Can someone please explain to me Pinterest? It seems like it's popping up allover the blogosphere and I want in on the action.  It sounds like it'd be perfect for me. I follow so many cooking blogs that I'd love to be able to easily save my favorite recipes and decorating ideas in one place (instead of printing them out and having them strewn all over the house...sorry Joe!).

But, every time I go to the site I get turned off.  I don't like the layout at all.  Is it a compatibility view issue? It almost looks like I'm viewing a mobile web version on my full screen but I don't see anywhere to change it.  Any Pinterest fans out there who can help me?  Or is this just the way it is and I have to deal with it?  I need a lesson.

I included a screen capture of what I see when I go to the site.  It's annoying. Please help or explain!  Because I need another way to waste time in my life...:)
