God Bless America

As mentioned in my previous post, the 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. If you were to see my house, I'm always very much inspired by American decor.  I've just always been drawn to navy and red.  But, if I were to actually be home for the holiday one year, I would go so much further with my decorations! Maybe some day I will but for now I'll just decorate in my head and enjoy my family memories.

Here are some of my inspirations if I were to go crazy one year.

From The Vintage Sparrow

From Makoodle

Patriotic wreath from Etsy

From The Inspired Room

From Naptime Crafts
I think it would be so much fun to throw a Memorial Day or 4th of July party one year.  There are some great ideas on Pinterest floating around right now!

Happy 4th of July everyone!

Memories in the making

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. It just screams happiness to me. That's probably because it's one of the few times that my entire family gets together. It's the sound of laughter, the splash of the pool, the boom of a firework.  It makes my heart sing.  I can't wait for another year of memories made.

May you all have a wonderful 4th of July week! God Bless America!

Happiness

That's what I experienced this weekend.  Completely and total happiness.  Nothing makes me happier than a beautiful weekend at home with my family.  I keep looking at the pictures from this weekend and they just continue to make me smile.  I can hear the giggles and shrieks of laughter from my nieces and nephews.  I can still feel the hugs and wet kisses.

I'm lucky that my entire family sets aside 4th of July weekend for a reunion. Since we're all spread out this is sometimes our only chance to see each other during the year. And we make the most of it!

My dad's beautiful pond

My brother and niece being brave at Hershey Park!

My niece made a gorgeous table outside for dinner

My parents backyard. Perfect.

My hubby doing his thing.
Watching the fireworks display. The men outdid themselves!

Not bad for a backyard display!

The carnage afterwards. That's only a portion of it!

I feel refreshed and satistified after this weekend. It was the perfect amount of laughing, eating, swimming and sun. If only it could have lasted a bit longer.  I'm already looking forward to next year!
