If ya wanna scream....

Are you having a horrible, boring Tuesday morning? Well get ready, because your life is about to change...

THIS! Is hilarious.

I've spent WAY too much of my tiny amount of free time the past week watching this video, laughing my butt off. Remember, don't take life too seriously- there are goats running around yelling like humans.

It's hard to dance with a devil on your back...

Happy March 4th!!! Did you know today is the only date on the calendar that is also a command???
March Forth :)

March Forth is marked by the idea of people dedicating this day as a renewed opportunity to improve their lives, to "march forth" towards their dreams. I haven't thought about this "holiday" in several years, but now more than ever is the perfect time for me to acknowledge this friendly reminder from my calendar & refocus some priorities in my life.

Pictured Above: Mindy letting go of stress, refocusing her priorities, dancing with her oddly high arches, wearing fabulous red skinny jeans

Here's to refreshing my life & hoping you feel motivated to do the same.

ps- dance around to Florence at least twice a week. She's good for the soul.

I could use somebody, someone like you...

I am very blessed in my life. When I take the time to slow down and look around me, I find that I am overwhelmed by the collection of really wonderful, TRUE friends in my life. Most of them are spread far and wide around the country, but that doesn't lessen the impact they have on my life in an almost daily basis. Life has gotten so busy for me over the past year that sometimes I find myself feeling very disconnected from these people, the people who love me and know me better than anyone else. It can be very depressing to feel so isolated from those who make you feel like yourself, those who know you better than you know yourself. But I've found that when I slow down and take a few minutes to really try to connect with the people that matter, I can bounce back in a matter of minutes to feeling more like me :)

There's been a lot of stress in my life this semester at school, both personal and academic. It's easy to forget that I have a solid network of support, waiting for a call or text from me- waiting for me to let them in. On Friday I was feeling pretty low, feeling very isolated and sad. A quick trip to Starbucks with my friend Megan helped me turn that around. I sat in my car in the parking lot after talking with Megan and reached out to some of the people I've been missing a lot. I made plans to go to brunch next week with the people close enough to get together. I set up a LONG overdue phone date with KC for this week. And I finalized plans to see LC and Kate in Annapolis the next day- a quick trip for them to spend some extra time with some people very important to me. By just taking time to connect with these people turned my week around and I ended up having one of the BEST weekends I've had in a long time. Very stress free and focused on the people in my life who matter- my family, my boyfriend & his kids, and my closest/dearest friends.

Don't let your world get clouded over by people or things that don't matter. They block out the sunshine that's waiting for you :)

The happy look of love

Enjoy your Sunday and have a great week!!!

Make it last forever, friendship never ends...

Happy Galentine’s Day!

Wait… what’d you say??? You never heard of Galetine’s day!?!? For realz? Um, it’s only the greatest holiday ever invented by a fictional character from a television show!

Bam! Now you know.
Celebrating Galentine’s Day is extremely important (so important that I am missing the Pens pre-game show to put together this little post). We need to show a little gratitude for our Ladyfriends and all they do for us! I, for one, appreciate that I have the type of friends who don’t judge me for still having Outkast’s “Hey Ya” on my iPod. They let it slide when I declare at least seven times a year that I “OFFICIALLY HATE JEANS!!!” after just having purchased another 3 pairs the week before. And best of all, they have never questioned my ridiculous/slightly-unhealthy obsession with FOUNTAIN Diet-Coke (SodaStream is for the birds!).

My thoughts on February 14th vary between "lamest day ever invented, I'm going to die alone smothered by cats" to "all you need is love, even chocolate isn't horrible today" depending on my relationship status, but I ALWAYS look forward to February 13th & the chance to celebrate my favorite friends :)

That being said… I’m totally in a happy, healthy relationship this year so bring on Valentine’s Day!!!!

Coming Soon

I had every intention of creating the 2012 family vacation video (like last year) but then the weeks (months, actually) flew by and the project was never completed. Somehow, I was just too distract...with Pinterest, and a broken toe and Felicity.

Around Thanksgiving, LC came up with a great idea...We should screen the vacation video at the family Christmas party! YES! Yes, we should, you smart cookie. And so my deadline was set.

I worked away learning the basics of iMovie while my eyes became a blurry mess from hours of staring at the computer screen. But, alas! The video is done and will be showcased on December 26 during a small private screening in Philadelphia, PA.

If you're dying to see my handiwork, you can check out the trailer HERE:

On the first day of Christmas...

Twelve more days until Christmas! I don't know about all of you but it's been a blur these past few weeks.  We don't know our holiday travel plans yet so that's wreaking havoc on my planning skills. It's been a whirlwind of shopping, parties, baking (lots of baking!), cleaning and decorating.

At times it has been a little stressful but once Joe comes home from work and the fire is on, the lights are off, and the Christmas tree is lit up everything is ok again.  It's amazing what the glow of Christmas lights can do...it softens everything just a bit so it looks beautiful.

Abbey looking adorable in front of the tree

Duke and Abbey snoozing away while we clean (probably their muddy pawprints!)

My recent chalkboard art attempt. It will go on my mantle.

Me and Duke doing our best pose

Hope these next few days are filled with love, joy, and all things merry. Take a moment to breathe deeply and appreciate everything you have.  It all goes by too fast.

Merry Christmas!

I said YES!

I think I'm guilty of a blogger faux pas. Something big happened and I waited weeks to blog about it.

One Saturday in late September while strolling on the Brooklyn Bridge my boyfriend became my fiance and I, a bride-to-be! The weekend was full of so many wonderful surprises that it will forever be marked in my memory as one of the best days of my life.

Here are pictures from the actual proposal and the celebration afterward.
